I need it, too. I didn’t realize how hard I’ve worked on my writing until now. I’ve have written three books this year (Joy on the Journey , Trigger, and my as yet untitled collection of short stories that I plan to publish in late winter or early spring), published two books (Progenitor and The Eleventh Hour), revised the remaining two books of The Earthside Trilogy (Metamorphosis and Emergence), and a ton of promotion in between. In fact, Progenitor just got another five star review from Reader’s Favorite. That and another book review I wrote lead to two more requests to review Metamorphosis once I publish it next summer, too. Good grief, no wonder I’m tired! It’s been a busy year. I’m amazed I didn’t notice just how much I’ve done with my writing in 2016. It’s also a small wonder that I struggle to come up with stuff to write in this blog, since I’ve been channeling so much into strengthening works in progress and creating new work.
It’s a good problem to have. I remember back when I started writing in 2001-2002, when I’d be lucky to finish one draft of a book in a year. It’s hard to believe it’s grown to publishing one to two books, writing two to three books, and regular book reviews. How on earth did I come to the deception that my writing has stagnated when all of this has been happening every day? It really has grown, and I didn’t dream I’d be at a point where I’m producing and doing so much with it on a regular basis back in those early days.
I’ll finish Trigger and take that break to read and enjoy my crafting. Of course, I’ll take up promotion opportunities as they become available, but I’m not going to run them down as intensely as I normally do (I have enough contacts coming to me that I pray I can keep on top of things during the next couple of months without having to run myself ragged). But no worries, because I’ll still be checking in here. I might actually write some decent blog entries too, since the muse will be done bombarding me with fiction for a couple of months while we take the fun ride through the holidays and the end of 2016 – I hope!
That’s all today. Take care. Have a Happy Friday tomorrow and a wonderful weekend.
Bye!
