Writing usually helps me during the busy season at work, so it’s the feeling like crap that’s zapped my muse. I really resent it, because things were going so well, especially with Singularity. The first seven chapters are written with satisfying world building, plot, characters, and both plots and subplots solidly in place. Where do I go from here? Maybe the muse will tell me once I recover from that miserable 4-day headache. Ever had a “migraine hangover?” It’s not pleasant.
Thankfully I’m recovering. I finally feel like myself for the first time in six weeks since I got the initial cold that sent me in this sinus spiral. I’m back to workouts and started reading again, but at this point I’m postponing the writing until next week. I got back the beta read on Duality a couple of days ago, and am considering fixes for three issues the reader highlighted for improvement. Singularity is at a crossroads that needs deeper pondering too. It's going to take some consideration to figure out how to build the conflict from the initial event that's setting this into motion. At this point, I’m going to keep healing, give my writing space, and trust in better inspiration next week.
I guess I took a bad hit at that wall I keep referring to breaking down and it knocked me out this week!
You get knocked down, but you get up again. These things happen, and there’s no point whining. Do not stay defeated; do not remain a victim. Get up and start smacking that wall again, one more time. No excuses.
That’s all today. Stay safe, and have a great rest of the week.
Bye!
