One thing, as I mentioned in my last entry, is to improve my attitude toward day to day life, and my relationships with the people around me. I really am blessed, and need to tap into those blessings with a sense of gratitude to open up new possibilities and opportunities.
The other thing I'm going to do is get to what is typically a New Year's resolution. Each year, I usually strive to do something I've been saying I'll do for a while, but haven't gotten around to. Obviously, that hasn't happened yet this year. The good news is that my timing is good to get on this now, because I decided this year's project will be working on short stories. I've said for years that I want to do this. Well, The Earthside Box Set is complete (it's free March 27-31, by the way, so go grab that five book series for your Kindle), and Convergence releases Monday (April 1). This means that, for the first time in over five years, I don't have a novel in progress. And while I do have a vague idea for my next project, I feel that I need to take a hiatus from novel-writing after the whirlwind that has been Earthside to replenish the creative well. Novels are fun, but they're intense (and obviously a lot of work). What better way to use this hiatus than to work on short stories? I think it's finally time to really and truly get on this goal. And so I shall.
Thanks be to God I am continuing to heal, and I'm not giving up. Rather, the personal discoveries I made during my recent illness have given me inspiration and hope to try again - and to do better this time. It's possible, and I pray that I do it right this time.
I'm not giving up. Lord willing, I'm just getting started. It's never too late and spring is just as good a time to start anew as January. Heck, you can always start over. The calendar just marks Earthly time. We need to follow the timing of the Spirit - and that rarely follows any kind of logic.
That's all today. Take care, and have a great week.
Bye!
