We're back from vacation! Rick and I took a long weekend at the beach, and boy did we need it. We can always tell when it's been a year or more since our last vacation because (ahem) people get very comfortable with us being around all the time. Yea, sometimes you need to disappear not only for your own good, but for the good of others as well.
Fall is a nice time of year to go to the beach too. It's not crowded, and the weather is nice. Well, the weather is nice everywhere in the fall - D.C. was great in late September last year. It was a good, relaxing trip. The best part was that we could take Zack and Chloe with us, since we were staying at my parents' place. And I even had a chance to finish the fourth draft of The Earthside Trilogy while there. Second round revisions done. Yay! I'm going on my writing hiatus soon, after I finish one more small writing project for the bird blog.
I do feel so much better, though. I'm not a big fan of travel, but sometimes it is good to get away. I feel a lot better now and ready to take on life again. And, of course, it's good to be home.
