Of course, that means I'm doing beta reads for them as well, but that works out. I'm going to read anyway, so I might as well help out a couple of fellow authors.
I've always loved books, so it pleases me to start the new year with a focus on them. I'd really like to reach more readers in 2019, which means I do need to learn how to expand my reach. I think one thing that would be helpful would be to spend more time on Goodreads. That should be easier now that I got a Kindle Fire for Christmas. It wasn't easy to manage that app on a phone.
I also pray to start writing a new novel later this year, after Convergence is published. Working on multiple writing projects is fun, and I loved doing The Earthside Trilogy, Trigger, and Convergence all together, but it got a bit overwhelming at times, especially when work was busy. I'm still brainstorming Domino (the working title for my next planned sci-fi/mystery novel) and hope to research and start writing it this spring or summer, Lord willing. But the rule right now is one novel at a time. Convergence is in final edits and beta reads, so that's what I'm focused on now.
You know I love books - both writing and reading them! Heck, I even got a library card last weekend so I could check out some of the "mainstream" titles and authors through the library. Did you know the public library system has an app called Overdrive where you can check out ebooks? You just need a library card and digital account at your local library to get it on your tablet. Pretty nifty. That was a nice tip I picked up over Christmas!
And of course, the day job is still there. Isn't that the immovable object in all of our lives? But we should be grateful for our jobs because they support the rest of life. I go back next week for my first full week in 3 weeks. I got sick the week before Christmas with a vicious sinus infection. The office was closed 3 days the week of Christmas, and I took this past week off. So I've had a good long stretch of time where I only worked a few days, but to be fair I was sick for some of it. I won't lie - I've been spoiled being off work so much lately, and going back is going to be shocking. It always is at the start of the new year, and I always make it. The good news is that I feel better than I have in a long time since I finished my antibiotic and got back on my workouts, so my energy levels are back to normal. I guess my desire to heal permeated the spiritual and mental areas too, because I haven't felt this good since before Chloe died 13+ months ago. Healing takes time, but it's good. I'm thankful to feel so much better in all areas, and pray that helps me to move forward into a magnificent 2019 (and beyond!).
So that's where it's at for me. Enjoying this weekend before it's back to reality in a couple of days. But thank God, I feel so much better, and pray it means that the reality is shaping up to be it's best from here.
That's all today. Take care, and have a great weekend.
Bye!
