I keep reading things saying that if you want to have followers, then you need to post "relevant content" on your blog and social media. The question is, what exactly is relevant content? What is it that keeps people coming back for updates every day, or week even? Is it one thing? Is it several? Is it a combination of things?
Obviously, it's a combination of things, and it's probably a shape shifter: constantly in motion depending on your current needs. I know mine are. Last week, it was Star Wars: The Force Awakens previews and advice for handing the holidays when your spouse has the flu. This week, it's how to stay in balance when your work load is approaching peak levels. Who knows what it will be next week? The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies reviews? Holiday prep? The right amount of salt to mix in my saline irrigation? Better stuff to blog about? Who knows?
I think the bottom line is that things are always changing, and keeping up with it all can be tough. Plus, I believe it's important to be true to your interest, because people can tell when you really care about something. I could go on about Ferguson, Missouri, for example, but enough people are already spewing their opinion about that one, so why scream in the wind when I can tell you that the Pebble watch I wear that people keep gawking at is on sale for $79 right now. That's right, it may be unique, but it's not that expensive. And it's compatible with Apple or Droid. So if there's a techie on your shopping list, there you go: relevant content.
