I'm surprised that local interest is high for the physical copies. The only other book I have in paperback is Blurry, my first fiction book that released 13 years ago, and it barely sold any paperback copies. Singularity was a good and beneficial learning process. I’m glad I did it and wish I had been bold enough to try this sooner. Live and learn. If it’s successful, I’ll do it for future releases, and consider it for the book series on my backlist. My next goal is to make enough profit to do audiobooks. Authors pay for that production process, which can cost thousands of dollars.
“Upping my game” with the promotion is still a work in progress and a learning curve. I’ve done a lot of research this summer, and even participated in a few webinars, along with hiring the editor. I don’t know why it took me so long to realize that if I want this to grow, then I need to invest in myself. So far, so good. I pray the results and building process continue. It is interesting and encouraging to learn and, as somebody told me recently, you find what you’re looking for. If you dread and live in fear, you’ll find it because bad things always happen. But good things always happen too, so if you strive for progress and expect good things, then you’ll find blessings, opportunities, and hope. That’s the kind of “switching gears” that I’m going for.
It's also Friendship Day, and I want to thank you for your friendship and support! Thanks for being there, for interacting, and for the unique way you touch my life. And don’t forget to be your own best friend and do something special for yourself. I wrote another short story while having the annual termite inspection on the home and got pizza for lunch today. Reward yourself because you’re awesome and if you celebrate that, then it can only get better.
That’s all today. Take care, and have a great rest of the week.
Bye!
